June Ramblings...

So here it is, the "soon" I mentioned in my last post. It's all relative, ya know...sooner vs later...all depends on the date...

Anyway, I think I'll share some things that have been going on with me since I do have a couple of people who read this blog that I don't get to speak with often enough...

I've finally been able to find a doctor who is helping me get healthy. My blood pressure and sugar had been thru the roof!! They were both at unsafe, practically deadly levels. But I'm glad to say they are both well medicated and under control.
I've seen a surgeon about this frikkin hernia and we are working on scheduling the repair surgery. It's not going to be as simple a procedure as I had hoped. He is going to have to basically remove my intestines, untangle them, put them back where they belong and repair my abdominal muscle with a piece of skin from an animal. He assures me this practice is in the forefront of new medical procedures and is totally safe. But if I grow a curly tail, you better believe he will have to make additional repairs!!! The hospital stay for the surgery will be from 3 to 5 days. Luckily, I have vacation time coming up so I won't have to lose a lot of work.
I have a sleep study scheduled to replace my old CPAP machine. For those who don't know, this machine makes you breath properly while sleeping. This, in turn, reduces the effects of sleep apnea to almost none. Added benefits are weight loss, complete night of rest (which I don't get now because I keep waking up), more energy...etc., so basically a lot of good things.
I'm working on getting back down to a target weight, and the more I lose before my surgery the easier it will be to heal.
If you didn't know, I've sold my bike. The plan was to pay off my car then turn around and finance a nice big bike more suitable for road trips. Well, I did pay off the car, but ran into a problem with a loan. Apparently when you pay cash for everything and have not opened any new credit cards in the past 7 years you can't get a loan. So now I'll just penny pinch and pay cash for a new bike. With no car payment, it shouldn't be too difficult!! Not to mention I will have plenty of time to test ride different models and make sure I get the right one for me!
I've had a couple health things of note the past couple of weeks...my left eye was swollen shut with what turned out to be a type of cellulitis. After 15 days of antibiotics it's finally back to the normal sparkling blue!
This past weekend I had a major allergic reaction to something. My hands were extremely swollen and very painful, I broke out in hives all over...I was a mess! My girl took me to the ER, and after a 2+hour wait the doc shot me full if Benadryl and steroids. They had me wait an hour or so to make sure it was working. Because my hands and wrists were hurting so bad, I asked for some pain relief. Have I mentioned how awesome dilauded is? Good stuff!! So we basically determined it was my new body wash...so much for saving a buck!

Work is work...not much I can post about my job other than I am still enjoying the technical aspect of Autocad and the add-on program for fire sprinklers called HydraCad. I've learned a lot, but there is much more to know!

If you have read all this, thank you...
I'll try to post more often for the 2 or 3 of you who actually read my ramblings...
