Be careful using Ebay!!!

Always check the seller before you purchase an item. My most recent purchase was paid for 26 days ago, and I have yet to receive the item. I have filed a complaint with PayPal, but have decided to give them until Friday, Nov 2, to get my item to me.

For your future reference, the person's name appears to be TSANG LAI FUN, from Hong Kong, and the Ebay username is "buybuyeasy". Not only am I getting jerked around, but this person knows very little grammatically correct English.
Double check the information before you do business with this person!!!

I know it's not Ebay's fault, so just watch yourself with Ebay and the users.

Daddy's Little Girl

Her hair was up in a pony tail,
Her favorite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy's Day at school,
And she couldn't wait to go.

But her mommy tried to tell her,
That she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand,
If she went to school alone.

But she was not afraid;
She knew just what to say.
What to tell her classmates
Of why he wasn't there today.

But still her mother worried,
For her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again,
She tried to keep her daughter home.

But the little girl went to school
Eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees
A dad who never calls.

There were daddies along the wall in back,
For everyone to meet.
Children squirming impatiently,
Anxious in their seats

One by one the teacher called
A student from the class.
To introduce their daddy,
As seconds slowly passed.

At last the teacher called her name,
Every child turned to stare.
Each of them was searching,
For a man who wasn't there.

"Where's her daddy at?"
She heard a boy call out.
"She probably doesn't have one,"
Another student dared to shout.

And from somewhere near the back,
She heard a daddy say,
'Looks like another deadbeat dad,
Too busy to waste his day.'

The words did not offend her,
As she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher,
Who told her to go on

And with hands behind her back,
Slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child,
Came words incredibly unique.

'My Daddy couldn't be here,
Because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be,
Since this is such a special day.

And though you cannot meet him,
I wanted you to know.
All about my daddy,
And how much he loves me so

He loved to tell me stories
He taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses,
And taught me to fly a kite.

We used to share fudge sundaes,
And ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him.
I'm not standing here alone.

''Cause my daddy's always with me,
Even though we are apart
I know because he told me,
He'll forever be in my heart'

With that, her little hand reached up,
And lay across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat,

And from somewhere here in the crowd of dads,
Her mother stood in tears.
Proudly watching her daughter,
Who was wise beyond her years.

For she stood up for the love
Of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her,
Doing what was right.

And when she dropped her hand back down,
Staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
But its message clear and loud.

'I love my daddy very much,
he's my shining star.
And if he could, he'd be here,
But heaven's, just too far.

You see he is a Marine
And died just this past year
When a roadside bomb hit his convoy
And taught Americans to fear.

But sometimes when I close my eyes,
it's like he never went away.'
And then she closed her eyes,
And saw him there that day.

And to her mothers amazement,
She witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children,
All starting to close their eyes.

Who knows what they saw before them,
Who knows what they felt inside.
Perhaps for merely a second,
They saw him at her side.

'I know you're with me Daddy,'
To the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
Of those once filled with doubt.

Not one in that room could explain it,
For each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her,
Was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.

And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
By the love of her shining star.
And given the gift of believing,
That heaven is never too far.

They say it takes a minute to find a special
Person, an hour to appreciate them,
to love them, but then an entire
Life to forget them.

I believe....

I Believe......

A Birth Certificate shows that we were born

A Death Certificate shows that we died

Pictures show that we lived!

I believe -. . That just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.

I believe - . That we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change.

I believe - . That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I believe - . That true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

I believe - . That you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.

I believe - . That it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.

I believe - . That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I believe - . That you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I believe - . That we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.

I believe - . That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I believe - .. That heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

I believe - . That money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I believe - . That my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time.

I believe - . That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.

I believe - . That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I believe - . That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I believe - . That it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I believe - . That no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I believe - . That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.

I believe - . That you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life. Forever.

I believe - . Two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.

I believe - . That your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you.

I believe - . That even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.

I believe - . That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

I believe - . That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to
what lies within us...

How to deal with a telemarketer

(From Andy Roony)

Three Little Words That Work !!

1)The three little words are: 'Hold On, Please...'

Saying this, while putting down your phone and walking off (instead of hanging-up immediately) would make each telemarketing call so much more time-consuming that boiler room sales would grind to a halt.
Then when you eventually hear the phone company's 'beep-beep-beep' tone, you know it's time to go back and hang up your handset, which has efficiently completed its task.
These three little words will help eliminate telephone soliciting.

2) Do you ever get those annoying phone calls with no one on the other end?
This is a telemarketing technique where a machine makes phone calls and records the time of day when a person answers the phone.
This technique is used to determine the best time of day for a 'real' sales person to call back and get someone at home.
What you can do after answering, if you notice there is no one there, is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6 or 7 times, as quickly as possible This confuses the machine that dialed the call and it kicks your number out of their system. Gosh, what a shame not to have your name in their system any longer !!!

3) Junk Mail Help:
When you get 'ads' enclosed with your phone or utility bill, return these 'ads' with your payment. Let the sending companies throw their own junk mail away.
When you get those 'pre-approved' letters in the mail for everything from credit cards to 2nd mortgages and similar type junk, do not throw away the return envelope.
Most of these come with postage-paid return envelopes, right? It costs them more than the regular 41 cents postage 'IF' and when they receive them back.
It costs them nothing if you throw them away! The postage was 39 cents before the last increase and it is according to the weight. In that case, why not get rid of some of your other junk mail and put it in these cool little, postage-paid return envelopes.

One of Andy Rooney's ideas...
Send an ad for your local chimney cleaner to American Express. Send a pizza coupon to Citibank. If you didn't get anything else that day, then just send them their blank application back!
If you want to remain anonymous, just make sure your name isn't on anything you send them.
You can even send the envelope back empty if you want to just to keep them guessing! It still costs them 41 cents.
The banks and credit card companies are currently getting a lot of their own junk back in the mail, but folks, we need to OVERWHELM them. Let's let them know what it's like to get lots of junk mail, and best of all they're paying for it...Twice!

Let's help keep our postal service busy since they are saying that e-mail is cutting into their business profits, and that's why they need to increase postage costs again. You get the idea!

This is my country.....

Somebody just sent me this in an email. I thought I'd share it, because it's very valid....and I happen to agree with it 1000%. If it offends you, so sorry....but I'm a citizen, so I have the RIGHT to express my opinion.
This is my country.
Let me make this perfectly clear!
THIS IS MY COUNTRY!

And, because I make this statement
DOES NOT mean I'm against immigration!!!
YOU ARE WELCOME HERE IN MY COUNTRY.
Welcome to come through like everyone else has.
Get a sponsor!
Get a place to lay your head!
Get a job!
Live by OUR rules!
Pay YOUR taxes!
And
LEARN THE LANGUAGE LIKE ALL OTHER
IMMIGRANTS HAVE IN THE PAST!!!
AND PLEASE DON'T DEMAND THAT WE HAND OVER OUR LIFETIME SAVINGS OF SOCIAL SECURITY FUNDS TO YOU TO MAKE UP FOR ''YOUR'' LOSSES.

If you don't want to forward this for fear of offending someone,
then YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM!

When will AMERICAN'S STOP giving away THEIR RIGHTS???
We've gone so far the other way ... bent over backwards not to offend anyone. But it seems no one cares about the AMERICAN that's being offended!

The Untold Budweiser Story

Want to know how Budweiser handled those who laughed at those who died on t he 11th of September, 2001.

Thought you might like to know what happened in a little town north of Bakersfield, California .
After you finish reading this, please forward this story on to others so that our nation and people around the world will know about those who laughed when they found out about the tragic events in New York , Pennsylvania , and the Pentagon.
On September 11th, a Budweiser employee was making a delivery to a convenience store in a California town named McFarland. He knew of the tragedy that had occurred in New York
When he entered the business to find the two Arabs, who owned the business, whooping and hollering to show their approval and support of this treacherous attack.
The Budweiser employee went to his truck, called his boss and told him of the very upsetting event! He didn't feel he could be in that store with those horrible people. His boss asked him, "Do you think you could go in there long enough to pull every Budweiser product and item our beverage company sells there? We'll never deliver to them again."
The employee walked in, proceeded to pull every single product his beverage company provided and left with an incredible grin on his face. He told them never to bother to call for a delivery again.
Budweiser happens to be the beer of choice for that community. Just letting you know how Kern County handled this situation.

And Now The Rest Of The Story:

It seems that the Bud driver and the Pepsi man are neighbors. Bud called Pepsi and told him. Pepsi called his boss who told him to pull all Pepsi products as well!!! That would include Frito Lay, etc.

Furthermore, word spread and all vendors followed suit! At last report,
the store was closed indefinitely. Good old American Passive-Aggressive A$$ Whoopin!

Pass this along, America needs to know that we're all working together!

If you can read this... Thank a teacher!!!!

If you are reading it in English. THANK A SOLDIER!!!

God Bless America !!

Time to start getting ready.....

God Bless America

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND OUR TROOPS!!!
(An open letter to everyone)

Dear Civilians, We know that the current state of affairs in our great nation have many civilians up in arms and excited to join the military. For those of you who can't join, you can still lend a hand. Here are a few of the areas we would like your assistance with:

1) The next time you see an adult talking during the playing of the National anthem ... kick their ass.

2) When you witness firsthand someone burning the American Flag in protest ... kick their ass.

3) Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these Veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these Veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while the Veteran kicks their ass.

4) If you are not in the military, DO NOT pretend that you are. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDU's), telling others that you used to be "Special Forces," and collecting GI Joe memorabilia might have been okay if you were still seven, but now it will only get your ass kicked. (Veterans are exempt from this rule)

5) If you witness someone calling an enlisted Marine "Sir," stand back .. a Marine will kick their ass.

6) Next time you come across an Air Force member, do not ask them, "Do you fly a jet?" Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot. Such ignorance deserves an ass kickin (children are exempt).

7) Roseanne Barr's singing of the National Anthem is not a blooper ... it was a disgrace and disrespectful. Laugh, and sooner or later your ass will be kicked.

8) Next time Old Glory prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand over your heart and quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her ... of course, failure to do either of those will earn you a severe ass kicking.

9) What Jane Fonda did during the Vietnam War makes her the enemy. The proper word to describe her is "traitor." Hate her or else (asses will be kicked).

10) Don't try to discuss politics with a military member or a veteran. We are Americans and we all bleed the same regardless of our party affiliation. Our Chain of Command, to include our commander in Chief .. the President ... (for those who didn't know) is all that we acknowledge. We have no inside track on what happens inside those big important buildings where all those "representatives" meet. All we know is that when those civilian representatives screw up the situation, they call upon the military to go straighten it out. The military member might direct you to Oliver North. (I can see him kicking your ass already.)

11) "Your mama wears combat boots" never made sense to me ... stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely kick your ass!

12) Bin Laden and the Taliban are not communists, so stop saying "Let's go kill those Commie's!!!" And stop asking us where he is!!!! Crystal balls are not standard issue in the military. That reminds me .. if you see anyone calling those damn psychic phone numbers; let me know, so I can go kick their ass.

13) Last but not least, whether or not you become a member of the military, support our troops and their families. Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends please remember that there are, literally, thousands of troops overseas wishing they could be with their families. Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, our country would get its ass kicked

The War on Terror

I didn't write the following, but I agree with it whole heartedly!!

"Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001?

Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?...Well, I don't. I don't care at all.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.

I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.

When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and other times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it-I don't care !!

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior!

If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country! And may I add:

"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem." -- Ronald Reagan

I have another quote that I would like to add AND.......I hope you forward all this.

"If we ever forget that we're One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under." Also by.. Ronald Reagan

One last thought for the day:

In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the Anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America , he said: "A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in... And how many want out."

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G. I.

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET BOTH OF THEM.

What a difference......

I picked up my new glasses yesterday. I knew they would help my distant vision, but I had no idea my near vision was so bad. With my glasses I can see so much more clearly. I'm certain my headaches will disappear, as well.

At least my feet are comfortable.

After spending very little on a new pair of shoes, I discovered they are too flat and made me feel like I was walking flat-footed. These are slip on type shoes, and they look more comfortable than they really are. Having WIDE feet, it's difficult to find a pair of shoes to fit right.

While in Target this weekend, I looked for some type of insole insert, and found some for three bucks. When I put them in my shoes, I wasn't sure how they would do. And since I wore sandals yesterday, I didn't get to find out. Well, I'm wearing them today and my feet feel like I'm wearing bedroom shoes!! My feet are totally relaxed.

I still like my western boots, but these feel great.

"What do YOU think you should do?"

"Me? I think you should TEACH ME!"

Have you ever had a boss or a supervisor who knows good and well that you don't have all the knowledge they do, but they still expect you to know the answer?

I have been doing this job for 10 years, yet I have minimal training. There are courses that teach this trade, yet my boss hasn't seen a reason to send me to any class. There are a TON of details I am unfamiliar with, but I'm still supposed to know the answer to every question. I wouldn't mind knowing how to do more, but I cannot teach myself. I have tried, but this is a demanding trade and not all the answers are printed in the "Rule Book" we have to go by.

I remain limited in what I can produce at my job. So when I ask a specific question to which I don't KNOW the answer, it's because YOU DO and I NEED TO KNOW!

My eyesight is going....

This week I had the first eye exam I've had in 2 or 3 years. My eyes hadn't changed is so long, the doc said I didn't need to come back every year...so I didn't. Unfortunately, I discovered that my eyesight had gone from tolerable to in need. I opted to not get contacts again since they are more aggravation than they are worth. Anyway, I found out that my near vision is just as bad if not worse than my far vision now. Yep, you guessed it...bi-focals! Good thing they make them with no lines now, else I wouldn't be getting them.

They were supposed to be in today, but they didn't get shipped in time. So now I get to tough it out over the weekend and pick them up Monday...IF they come in. I did opt for the super thin, flexible frames with no rims (the frame around the lens itself). I tried on a bunch of different ones, but finally settled for the first pair she handed me anyway.

Oh well...we shall see! LITERALLY!! HAHAHA

Have a good weekend.....yea, I know no one is reading this yet, but I still thought I'd say that.

This is me....

Today I start blogging.

So many times you hear on the news, or on a sitcom someone makes a comment, about "Blogging". Well, why not. I might as well start my own blog.

I will post randomness as often as it strikes me. Maybe I'll post a rant. Or maybe I will post a recipe. Maybe I'll post a picture. Who knows....

The fact of the matter is, I am now blogging.

YAY for me...I'm a NERD!!
