December ... in general

Key West is out. Too late to plan properly. Maybe next year.

I have replaced the Canon 20D I had for several years with the new 60D. I've decided to make photography work! I'm shooting for a couple different books already. One about City Market in Savannah, another focused on Christmas decorations. When completed, they will be available for purchase online.

Multiple Ongoings.....

Today I woke up at the crack of 11:00 AM...what's up with THAT? hahaha

Anywho, after a cup of coffee and my daily perusing of the interweb, I decided my apartment needs cleaning. Yep, laundry to wash, bathroom to clean, floors to vacuum...might even clean the Kia up if I get done inside quick enough!

I have my media player going thru various MP3s, currently on Totally Buble (2003)...and I looked up a coca-cola glaze that is simmering now with which I plan to coat chicken wings, shortly...

I have "feelers" out with several friends...oh, I didn't post here yet...I'm trying to find a tent campsite somewhere in the Florida Keys for the week of December 21-28. I have never been to the Keys and thought it would be fun to camp instead of paying outrageous fees for a motel!!

If you missed it previously, I have totally redesigned my website yet again. I've decided that since I can FIND a job, I will MAKE one. I feel confident that I can make a photography business work. I know I have the talent, and will soon have the equipment, so this time I'm going to make it work one way or another!

I feel like I have more friends here in Bluffton than I have ever had at any other point in my life, and I am grateful for them.

October 13, 2010....I guess it's time...

With everything that's been going on these past few weeks, I have yet to secure gainful employment. I have tried to sell furniture and a couple other things, but at this time I can't even keep my phone turned on. I'm sure it's a matter of time before the power gets turned off, too.

Basically, I don't see any other option than to pack my things up, put them in storage, and move back to my parent's house in Charleston. No, it's not my first choice, but it's my only choice...I better email my landlord and let her know...

My preference, of course, is to stay in Bluffton...but I don't know how I can with no income at all.

10/11/10

Still coughing and hacking...sick and tired of it! I thought it was just the remnants of the cold I had, but I have coughed so much in the past 2 weeks every muscle in my abdominal area HURTS. I'm going to the Doc-in-a-box today to see if they can give me something for it....IF I can afford it!

Friday, October 1, 2010

1 am and I can't fall asleep. Been sick in bed most of this week, but SO un-rested. Head is finally clearing up, cough easing up, but so tired.

Saturday, September 11, 2010

So many things..........

I have a lot of things going on right now...a TON of options, and each option has a myriad of variables...high hopes exist, but not to the point of making plans based only on hopes...

(Vague enough?)

Not broken after all...

I went to the orthopedic doc today. After he reviewd the X-rays, he informed me that the bones in my hand aren't broken, but the tendons and badly bruised. He replaced the splint I had to my elbow with a wrist style velcro brace. Said to start exercising my fingers to flex those tendons. I go back in two weeks. The possibility of physical therapy has not been eliminated.
He did, however, sign the form NOT allowing me to return to work. Oh well...2 more weeks of insanity.

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

Somehow, some day, I'm gonna make it all right, but not right now. I know you're wondering when. But you're the only one who knows that.

Friday August 13, 2010

11am and its 90 degrees....sunny...and my hand is killing me!

Monday, August 9, 2010

Yep...I broke my hand!!!

So I'm at a jobsite today, using a scissor lift, and I raised it up and SMACK...had my had on the top rail...it slammed into the attic truss overhead...an hurt like no tomorrow!!!

It swole up, and throbbed the rest of the day. I could barely lift anything about an hour after smashing it, because it hurt so bad! I called the boss about an hour later and told him...and said I need to get it looked at. He suggested putting ice on it and wait til I get back to Bluffton...which I did.

The doc said there are 2 fractured bones in my hand. Gotta wear a hard splint for 4 weeks, then see an orthopedic doctor.

Yea, this is gonna be fun...I'm just sayin

The search continues....

Despite having an apparently favorable telephone interview last week with a large fire sprinkler company, I have not been offered a position. Therefore, I am still searching for a job. I have actually not stopped looking. I cannot continue working in the field. I am not physically capable of working in attic spaces where the temperature is 100+ and the heat index is at least 120!

If you, or anyone you know, knows of any job in any part of the country (or world) that's related to fire sprinkler design, please give them my name and email, or pass their info to me and I will contact them!

81 and humid today....just sayin

Sunday, August 1, 2010

needs a new job...NICET level I certified fire sprinkler designer...anywhere in the country...resume readily available...with references

Tuesday July 27, 2010

Had a pretty good day today...GREAT telephone interview this morning...got A LOT done on the jobsite - had an architect get all up in my face, but then got an apology of sorts from the contractor later because I WAS RIGHT...got my cute neighbor to go to my watering hole with me, even though the musician didn't show up...got my Sarcastaholics Anonymous facebook group set up...shared a wonderful new blog with my family....yea...it's been a good day...it's 82 degrees and a rain shower outside right now...10:40-ish and going to bed...

Ashley...I miss you, and I love you ... I'm just sayin........

Here I go again....

Another month gone by and no update...what's up with me?

OH, I know...working in the field as an installer instead of in the office as a designer like I was HIRED to do...THATs whats up!!

Today it's 94 with a heat index of 114!!!!! Yea...not gonna be fun working tomorrow either....especially since I already have over 45 hours on this pay period...too bad I only get paid for 40 hours...hmmm, kinda seems like there are LAWS against that!!!!

Yea, Im a tad bitter right now, can you tell??

Monday, June 28. 2010

I went out on the May River yesterday with a couple friends. I didn't realize so many people went to the sandbar. It's kind of like a beach, but on the river, with a LOT of boats anchored.
Too bad I didn't use sunscreen on my back and shoulders. I hope it turns brown instead of peeling - HA

Long day at work today, starting with a trip to Beaufort. At some point today I will be making a couple of personal phone calls, trying to make some arrangements for the future.

Let's just say that UNorganization, instability, cheating people, lying and backstabbing are not among the things I like about people.

Anyway, today is going to be productive one way or another!!

I think it's cooler out today than it has been in a month...77 and humid.

Sunday, June 27, 2010

WOW, has it really been a month since I posted something?

I guess that means work has been a bear, huh!

It's a beautiful sunny day in the Lowcountry. Already 81 outside, and getting hotter by the minute. Unfortunately, I have work to do. I got the kitchen and the living room cleaned yesterday. Today I work in the bedroom and the bathroom. However, not until I complete the drawing revisions for a project at work FIRST. FORTUNATELY, I can most likely get it all done by noon-ish. At least I better...because a friend has invited me to go out on the river with him and his girl. Apparently there is a sandbar in the river that's a popular "hang-out" spot here in Bluffton. (good thing I have a decent base tan, since I would burn if I didn't)

I better get busy. Lots to do!!

Tuesday, May 25, 2010

I know my website is one out of BILLIONS online, but if you read this blog please visit my site - if you are active or retired military or KNOW someone who is, please participate as best you can.

Monday, May 17, 2010

I had a chance to put my kayak in the river with a group of people from Meetup.com this past Saturday. The trip was "advertised" as 2 miles, and about 2 hours. It ended up being about 2 and a half hours, which to me was not a problem, since I love being in my yak! However, based on the GPS one of the guys in the group has built into his cell phone, it was more like 5 miles. Pretty cool, if you ask me.
The only problem with this trip was the fact that the fiberglass patch the previous owner did on the hole he made had dry-rotted over the winter. Yep, after about an hour, I was sittin in water! Good thing another yaker had a bilge pump handy. (I need to get a super-soaker) Anyway, when we took out at the landing, the guide told me how to repair it. Basically getting a block of material and with a heat gun, melt it onto the hole, and re-shape it.
I called the manufacturer, who told me to call a dealer, who told me they don't sell the material, but they can fix it for me - I'm sure for a fee. Luckily, I know a guy who knows a guy who probably can get me some material straight from the manufacturer. I think I'll just wait and see how soon I can get that. That way I can fix it mineself. :-)

It's already 81 outside and extremely muggy!!

Thursday, May 13, 2010

Well, I spent the last half of yesterday medicated and in the bed. It's been a long time since I have had a headache that bad! I'm pretty sure it's past, though. THANKFULLY!

Tonight I see The Groovetones at the Metropolitan Lounge and Bistro. I know the cook, so I'm getting a custom made, not on the menu, awesome pizza!! Gotta love it!

73 and partly cloudy....

Welcome to May 2010

Yes, I realize it's the THIRD already. But at least I'm here.
I've had a lot going on at work. Lots of changes, modifications, and clarifications. They continue today. There's a meeting scheduled to begin momentarily in which several things (tasks, assignments, etc) should be clarified. Hopefully the outcome will be as positive as I am imagining they will be. I guess only time will tell.

It's currently 73 degrees, muggy, and becoming cloudy.

Happy Birthday, Ashley

On this date, twenty two years ago, the most beautiful baby girl was born. She has grown into the most amazing, gorgeous, talented young lady on the face of this planet. Happy Birthday, my beautiful Ashley Jean!! No matter what happens in life, you will always be Daddy's Girl...and I love you!

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Feels like I haven't blogged in forever...sorry about that. I don't know why I haven't - I do know that any excuse will do when you are trying to make an excuse, so I won't try.
I will work on an update later today.

Saturday, April 2, 2010

Yes, it's me. Back again after not posting for TOO LONG!

Not to make excuses, but I've kinda been going and going.

The pollen has been wrecking havoc with my head and lungs. EVERYTHING is covered in a fine yellow powder and it's just about to drive me crazy! Today is the day I catch up with several things...a couple at work, and a couple at home. And I definitely need to do laundry!

So, have a nice Easter, and I'll post something later today, or first thing tomorrow.

oh, woke up to 54 and hazy, but it should be about 80 and sunny today

:-)

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

Woke up to a full moon and a chill in the air. I have a feeling its going to be a beautiful day. Missing my girl...I'm just sayin!

Friday, March 26, 2010

Had a busy, LONG day yesterday. After driving all the way to Fort Stewart just to find out the meeting had been cancelled, I got back to the office and worked on the few things needing attention. I made a couple phone calls, got a couple leads...then went to see my buddies playing back-up at Marty Falle's Lowcountry Jam open mic night.
Got home about 10 and was asleep before my head hit the pillow!

Making as many calls today as I can so I can fill up my schedule for next week!!!

61 and partly cloudy !!!!!!!!!

Thursday, March 25, 2010

Thursday, March 25, 2010

Didn't sleep much again last night for hacking and coughing. Took a Claritin this morning and it seems to have helped some. So I guess this really is more of allergies than a cold. THATs good to know!

Got up early and went all the way to Ft Stewart (about an hour and a half away) just to discover the meeting had been cancelled. :-o
Oh well.

68 and partly cloudy

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Yesterday was another long day. My head and chest are getting congested, which makes me feel sluggish, so that makes it worse. I came home a little early, took some cough syrup and went to bed! I slept most of the night, only waking up a couple of times.

Woke up to 46 and clear.

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Long day yesterday. Went to Beaufort for work, then to the south end of Hilton Head to pick up some gear for the Tones, then stopped and uploaded several videos at Panera (high speed wireless!). This morning I am loading up my short kayak so a guy can meet me at the office at 7:30 to possibly buy it. Then lots to get accomplished today!

After tossing and turning all night, I finally got up about 5...to 45 and clear.

Monday, March 22, 2010

Monday, March 22, 2010

Didn't sleep much last night. Kept having strange dreams involving robotic aliens overtaking the world...what's THAT all about?!?!

Going in to work early to make sure all the details are dealt with on several smaller things, then headed to Beaufort to survey an existing building for work.

Might sell a kayak after work today...if the guy doesn't "no show".

Woke up to 48 and clear....

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Well...it's been a busy weekend. But I have had a good time. It started with The Groovetones Friday night at Kanaley's on the south end of Hilton Head Island. I helped the guys carry gear in and set up some. Then as they played, the "crowd" of few turned into less and less. So, it became a special birthday concert just for me! They still played their hearts out and we all loved it! Of course I helped them break down and load up.

Saturday, I slept in...til 8! Then cleaned up around the house just a bit and went down to Wingfest. This is a fundraising event where many Island restaurants set up tents and sell various styles of wings. There is also a stage where different bands get to show off their talents. When I got there, Deaz Guys were on stage. They played beach music and motown. Very cool. Musta been 2000 or more people when I got there. I ran into Brandi and her friend Brittney. Brandi works at The Metropolitan Lounge and Bistro, where I've been to see the Tones. She’s a beautiful and friendly girl. So of course I had to say hi. :-)

Later in the day, I took a needed nap! Played online a bit, then headed to Beaufort! Why? The Groovetones, of course. They were appearing at Plum's. Not having been to Beaufort except for work, and seeing only ancient buildings on Main St., I wasn't sure what kinda place it would be. Turned out that, even though the building was probably 100 years old, they had renovated the inside to turn it into a terrific restaurant and raw bar. We had to wait over an hour for patrons to finish eating so the staff could move out the tables in order to make room for the band. Anyway…we got everything in and set up, then I asked Tony if he needed to move the truck…since it was parked on the road, almost blocking a crosswalk. He tossed me the keys and I took off to move it. I got in, put the key in the ignition, turned it…and “click-click-click-click.” It sooo wouldn’t start. But I knew that sound. The battery wasn’t totally dead, but the flashers had been left on too long. Luckily, a city cop was driving by and I flagged him down. He got turned around and jumped it off for me!

Well, I got the truck moved, but had to park at the marina because of the trailer. By the time I got back to Plum’s, the ‘Tones had started and the place was PACKED! From the very beginning, I could tell it was going to be difficult at best to shoot any video. But I still tried. I think I got something useful, so I have my other computer uploading to YouTube. It seems to take forever, but as I get the videos posted, I’ll post links.

While the ‘Tones played, I met a really nice lady who told me she had been up and down Bay St checking out other bands too. We talked a while about music, bands, work and a few other things, and decided to go next door and check out the rock band. When we got in there, the guys were sounding good. They played more hard rock, but I was familiar with those songs and these guys did a great job. The lead singer was really getting into his performance, too. They all blended well. I might have to come back in 2 weeks when they will be there again. We’ll see.

Well, I better get busy with my house-cleaning…I might decide to add to this later…ya never know!!!

Friday, March 19, 2010

Friday March 19, 2010

I got my new HD video camera late yesterday...charged the batteries...so I'm ready to shoot the Groovetones tonight! They will be at Kanaleys on Hiton Head tonight, then tomorrow they play at Plums in Beaufort. I hope the video is good enough quality that they can use it on their website.

Lots of little things to do at work today....

43 degrees and clear...

Thursday March 18, 2010

The day after......

So I had to work all day yesterday, and didn't make it to Savannah at all. I don't think I feel bad about it, because it rained. So I took myself to Outback for dinner. Now I have today's lunch too, because I only ate about half of it. Then I went to see some live music. Got home kinda early...slept later than usual. Not the most excited about a few things...but AM excited that I have a job..and one that I enjoy!!

Woke up to 46 and partly cloudy...

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Woke up with a killer headache. I took an aspirin, and sipped coffee. Then took a shower so long and hot that I ran out the hot water. But I feel better. I'm kinda bummed that I can't take off work today and do the parade/party thing in Savannah. But I guess the fact that I'm actually committed to my job makes it ok. Next year it's on a Thursday, so I might just take a LONG weekend!!

There are a lot of things to do at work today, and it's atfer 7...so I need to get motivated. I just wanted to stop by and post something.

"Something"

There...LOL...it's 50 degrees out and partly cloudy.

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Pre-Birthday!!!

I had a great surprise at work today. Not only did I get a lot done, but I was given a specific task I had asked for months ago. Now, it will all work out. No details, just sayin it's gonna be cool.

AND....one of the coolest chics I know, who happens to be in ANOTHER COUNTRY, sent me balloons at work today for my birthday...HOW COOL IS THAT!!

You're awesome...Hope you're doing well over there in that far away land!!

Now to plan tomorrow's agenda...which, sadly, consists mostly of working all frikkin day LOL

That's ok...it will be St Pat's again next year and maybe THEN I can hit Savannah!!

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Well, we survived the first day with no Cathy. Barely. It will NOT be easy to find someone who can do everything she did, but the search is on!

Got up early to tweak the drawings sent by a designer we haven't used before. I knew there would be a couple small things to address. Luckily, they ARE small. I should be done in a couple minutes. Then it's off to the Jasper County project. I get to meet the sub-contractor who's coming to core-drill some holes for us.

I'm now debating whether I will get to go to Savannah tomorrow...we'll see, I guess.

50 and clear.

Monday, March 15, 2010

Monday, March 15, 2010

Went to the Hilton Head St Pat's parade yesterday. It started pretty much on time...but went FOREVER.
Some of the entrys were creative, others (as expected with a small town) were just lame. I took a lot of pictures - which I will upload later...and shot some video. I should have gotten a higher vantage point, but the one of the marching band turned out ok, I think.
I had planned to shoot a band after the parade, but that hamburger I ate either had something wrong with it, or my stomach just decided to go balistic without asking me beforehand if it's ok. Either way, I ended up leaving earlier than I planned. Came home and was exhausted, so I went to bed by 8.
This week will be interesting at work, and if I take Wednesday off like I want, then I have to work hard to make up for it! I have a big goal to meet by the first of July...time's slipping by...enough is enough...time to get serious about it!!

Woke up to 47 degrees and clear.

Sunday, March 14, 2010

Saturday, March 14, 2010

I went to Tybee Island to see the Groovetones again last night. They were playing at Cafe Loco, which is just across the bridge as you get onto Tybee. It's a nice place, for being right on the water. The staff was great and the food was better! I don’t know when I had fried shrimp that was that good! There was some kind of class reunion going on, because everyone there knew everyone else! The place was PACKED. The majority of the people were married couples - I could tell by the introductions as they arrived....I happened to get there before the 'Tones and I sat on the porch. They all had a good time when the band started, too. OF COURSE they did...these are The Groovetones!

Today is the widely popular St. Patrick's Day Parade on Hilton Head Island. The guys are playing at a place called Dry Dock, but Tommy Beaumont and his Disco Fever are at Enchilada's. Tommy asked me to shoot some video of his group both IN the parade and at the restaurant after. He mentioned needing some images/video for his website, and the possibility of maybe a bit of $$ for shooting this. SO...of course I will be doing my best to get something he can use!

Next weekend, the Groovetones and Tommy play together at Kanaley’s on the south end. I saw them there once before and they sound great together. I’m looking forward to that too!

It’s 11:40 am, and I’m headed out to the parade. Maybe I can get a decent angle to shoot some video and take some pics!
54 degrees and mostly sunny out!

Saturday, March 13, 2010

Saturday, March 13, 2010

64 and mostly cloudy, breezy

Friday, March 12, 2010

Friday, March 12, 2010

After working 15 hours again yesterday, I came home and showered, then went to see the Groovetones...again. These guys really put on a great show! Last night they mostly played back-up for Marty Falle's open mic night. But it was still the 'Tones playing. So it was fun!

Woke up to 59 degrees and overcast.

I hope to go shoot my new Taurus PT1911 this afternoon or tomorrow!!! Hopefully my new holster will come in, too!!

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Thursday March 11, 2010

Why is it when you order online from one company the item ships within hours, but when you order from others you literally have to CALL six days later and ask about the order before it ships!?!?

Either way, I finally got a tracking number. As of 5am, my item is still in Memphis! Ok, so FedEx has a big task ahead to get this to Ridgeland today! They might make it, but I am not counting on it! That company can rest assured I won’t order from them again!

So I worked 15 hours yesterday, but I'm pretty sure I got everything done that I was supposed to…plus some! I also got a chance to talk to the boss about a couple conversations I've had with people this past week about how they dislike my company for whatever reason. All they want to do is whine and moan, and talk smack about people. I have no use for someone like that. If you aren't happy with the work relationship YOU have, then YOU have a problem. NOT ME. I am happy where I am. I like what I do. If you aren't happy with YOUR situation, CHANGE IT. Don't just moan about it!! And….don’t be bitching to ME about YOUR problems. You don’t like the deal you got? Maybe it was the way YOU handled it. YOU can change your situation, not me. I don’t want to hear about it. OH, and if you are telling me your problems in an attempt to turn ME against someone, you can forget it. My loyalties are NOT to you…even if you say “this is between us”…don’t count on it. You talk smack about someone I am loyal to and they WILL know about it.

The definition of insanity is simply this…”Doing the same thing, the same way, over and over again but expecting different results.” THAT is what you are doing. Now stop acting insane, get up off your fat ass, CHANGE what you don’t like, and STOP BITCHING TO ME!!!

**steps down from the soapbox**

Now, with that said, I’m going to work.
Oh, it’s 59 degrees outside and raining.

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Seriously?

You can't take two more steps and put the butt IN the recepticle? Come on...it's just TWO STEPS!

Wednesday, Marh 10, 2010

Up at 4 am again...57 and clear.

It's quite irritating that people have no condiseration for others.

I went to lunch yesterday at the Golden Corral. Not a regular thing for me, but I was craving a salad, and otions are few here. As I left the building, I had to stop and take a picture of my car. Some idiot had parked so close that I almost had to crawl thru the passenger side.

Totally inconsiderate. Probably intentional. Almost got under my skin. But I just took a deep breath and moved on!

Collision on I-95

Went to bed a little early last night. Got up WAY too early this morning. Stomach feels weird. Might stop eating. Need to start walking for exercise.

I witnessed a pretty bad wreck on I95 yesterday. A car in the left lane lost control as a tire blew out and smashed into a trailer being towed by a pick-up in the right lane. The truck started fishtailing, weaving back and forth, then finally jack-knifed, the trailer separated from the truck and the trucked flipped over multiple times. I remember seeing the truck land on it's roof, glass shattering, then continue to roll! The car came to rest in my lane, facing me, as I had to slam on the brakes to keep from plowing into it.

I dialed 9-1-1 as I got out to check on the driver of the car. The people in the car had no obvious broken bones, and no one was bleeding. All four of them got out and I, along with another motorist, helped them get out of the lane of traffic. They moved to the grassy shoulder of the road as several other motorists stopped to render aid to the occupants of the truck. The truck had come to rest on it's side, at least 200 yards further away in the direction of travel.

The driver who stopped behind me offered them water. Each of the 4 occupants were trying to call family or friends to let them know what had happened. The driver was very shaken up and distraught. Not uncommon, I've seen this situation before, obviously. She handed me the phone and asked me to talk to her dad. I identified myself and immediately he began yelling. Well, I guess he may have been yelling at her, too, which would make her even more nervous, I am certain. I told him his daughter was ok and didnt apparently have any broken bones or serious injuries.

This is where the man lost my respect as a human being...he said, again yelling..."I don't give a damn about my daughter - are the other people ok? Do I need to call my @%&$# insurance company?!!" I said, calmly, "Sir, the other car flipped over several times, so I would think so!" He was silent for a brief moment, than asked to speak to his daughter again. So I returned the phone to her.

As the trooper approached to gather information, I offered what I saw and gave him my card. A second trooper arrived and as they began to push the car from the traffic lane with their push-bumper, I let the first trooper know I needed to be on my way, and I left. As I walked back to my truck, I heard the second trooper tell the first trooper that the helicopter was  almost there. This meant the people in the truck were seriously injured...which I already knew because of the way I saw it land on it's roof!

I've looked online, but can't find any news source that has information about this collision posted. I don't know if any will. I hope and pray the person or people in the truck survived.

Woke up with a small list remaining of things to do at work. Well, to get caught up from last week.
Gotta finish them quick so I can move on to other things!

Too Hot To Handle!!

To view thie properly you may have to "right click" on the picture as it is playing and choose "watch on YouTube"...I' still tinkering with the page layout...

Atlanta Bread Company

I'm sittin here minding my own business, trying to upload some movie files to YouTube, which is starting to tick me off, and some guy sits down at the table behind me banging his chair up against mine! Ok, so he's 95 years old and didn't mean to...no big deal...but I get up to go to the rest room and come back to discover he has slid my chair closer to my table and backed his away from his table. Ok, so he needed a little more room at his table...no big deal...so I slide my table away to make room for me to sit down comfortably. Then, as he leaves, he slams his chair up against mine AGAIN, and just walks off. What? Not even a whispered "Excuse me" as you walk away? Dude, because I am half your age and did not fight in World War I with you gives you the right to disrespect my personal space? Come on...give me a freakin break....oh oh, did I mention the table behind me is NOT THE LAST TABLE in the place that was vacant when he sat down?!

Good thing I am a patient man. I’m just sayin!!

Sunday, March 7

What?? Last post was March 4??? Oh how slack of me!!

Let's see...Thursday night I borrowed an HD video camera and filmed my buddies, The Groovetones, at a local music hall called "Bluffton Live." Which means I slept late on Friday and didn’t get up til 7!! SO I dragged myself to work and did my best to finish the list the boss left for me. Almost got it done...I'll go in today and make sure I finish it!

Then Friday, I took the video camera to the "Electric Piano" on the south end of the island and shot some video of Tommy Beaumont with his "Disco Fever" show. They did a good job, but the setting was a bit tough to shoot. I'm trying to upload some of the videos now, so I'll post them as they become available at YouTube.

On the way home from the EP, I stopped by the Metropolitan Lounge to check out the Simpson Brothers. Not too bad for a couple of guys older than me playing all genres of music LOL Funny thing about that was, sittin right there at the bar....Tom Berenger! So I Facebooked it from my cell and wouldn't you know it, some friend girls accused me of making it up!! One of them all but professed her love for the guy! Go figure! The bartender said he comes in often and doesn't mind people taking "fan pics", so I may go back sometime just to get a shot for that friend girl. Might make her day - hahaha.

Yesterday, I took some of the tax refund that came in on Friday and went to Sam's. I left with a 22" flat screen tv with a built in DVD player (it was super cheap), and a 16gig iPod Nano. Yea, I know...I'm one of the last people on earth without an iPod....but not any more! LOL Good thing I already know how to use iTunes...and have a lot of my CDs already imported!

After going to Wild Wing to make an appearance at a friend’s birthday celebration, I headed to St Helena’s Island for a pig pickin. It takes an hour to get there from here, but I knew that when I left. The bbq had been cooking all day, as it is SUPPOSED to, and was fall-off-the-bone delicious! The sauces weren’t bad either. I probably ate too much, but I enjoyed it.

When I got back to Bluffton, I checked my mail and WOOHOO…there’s my SC Tax refund check! Now I can make an appointment for an eye exam!! LOL I know, sad that my budget is that tight…but hey, at least I’m making it work one way or another. I also had a post card from my friend in Africa. She is a funny girl, and knew I would laugh at the pic on that postcard. I did, really…too funny.

Man, this is a long post…oh well.

Anyway, woke up this morning to 38 degrees and clear, but it’s already warmed up to 48. I just might get the bike out and ride some today…

Thursday, March 4, 2010

Half moon this morning.

I set my clock for 4 am. Why? Because I am more of a morning person! I always get more done early in the day than later. I love getting up early. I don't mind staying up late sometimes, but I LOVE getting up early.

Today I make some personal visits to potential customers...selling inspections for sprinkler systems. I'm really looking forward to it. I know that "sales" in general can be difficult, but I know sprinklers, and I am positive I can do this. There have been some lofty goals set. But I am developing a game plan. It helps to know people who know people.

It's 34 and clear right now!!!

Two weeks!

That's right, in two weeks the city of Savannah throws me the second largest birthday party in the country! I can hardly wait! They've done it for years, but this will be the first time I have been able to attend. I am SO looking forward to it.

I am kinda aggrivated this morning because I forgot to get sugar for my coffee again! I guess I will have to set an alarm on my phone to remind me later today to stop by the store on my way home.

39 and partly cloudy...

Tuesday March 2, 2010

Woke up at 4 this morning. As I started to fix the coffee pot, I realized I don't have any sugar. How can I drink coffee without sugar? I was bummed. So I left early and got a cup from the Enmark store. I'm good now.

I'm working on completing the inventory today. I have to input the list of materials to an excel spreadsheet. Once I get this done, I will pass it on to someone else who will probably keep up with it. Why? Because I will be going out to places of business trying to sell inspections. We don't have someone trying to get new inspections, so it's going to be up to me. I have some big goals over the next 6 months, but I am confident I can get it done.

The weather report said a cold front is moving thru today with the possibility of a few flurries. I have to wonder if these southerners will rush the grocery stores! LOL

It's 48 out and cloudy.

Happy Birthday, Mom

Today is my mom's birthday. She and dad came to see me yesterday. We spent the day re-arranging the living room! Then I fixed her a birthday dinner. She SAID she liked it, but she's mom, so I kinda wonder if she really did...well, except for the fact that she ate it all! LOL

She'll wake up to a miniature rose plant to take home with her. I know she likes plants, and who doesn't like roses, right?

39 and clear, with a full moon...

Sunday, February 28, 2010

Talk about crazy...someone decided to drive around the neighborhood at FOUR o'clock this morning blasting their car horn and screaming at the top of their lungs. I couldn't tell what they were saying, but they woke me up...and I'm not known to be a light sleeper! Five-O got a call, and they did drive thru once, but the "perp" hasn't been back. I guess I'll just stay up and clean house.
37 and clear with a full moon...

Saturday, February 27, 2010

Well, it's Saturday again. I only got about 3 hours sleep last night. I drove an hour (to St helena Island) to hear The Groovetones play at a little roadside bar called Weezie's Crab Shack. I have to say it was really a GREAT SHOW! I really enjoy their music. I told Tony, the front man, they are like a cross between Stevie Ray Vaughn and The Fabulous Thunderbirds, with some Huey Lewis tossed into the mix. Their sound is blues, but an upbeat kinda blues. Anyway, I got in at 1:30, then couldn't fall asleep til about 3. Then for some strange reason, I woke up about 10 after 6. Oh well...I have to be at the office by 9, so it'll be ok. I'm sure I'll find time for a nap later.

Met someone nice while waiting for the band to start. A lady named Jean. She lives near there and has only been in the area about a month. We got along nicely and had fun when the band started. We'll see if we talk again...I like making new friends. Who has too many friends, right?

Anyway, it's 37 outside and partly cloudy.

I'm just sayin.....

Friday, February 26, 2010

Friday February 26, 2010

Had a good time at the Metropolitan Lounge last night. What I thought was going to be a show by The Groovetones was actually an open mic night. The 'Tones basically played back up for several singers. It started out with country (which, if you know me, is not my favorite) but somehow it wasn't all that bad. Maybe because I knew the band! LOL

Anyway, they sounded good...so I wasn't totally disappointed.

Woke up this morning to 34 and partly cloudy. :-)

Good news and bad news...

I got a little of both today at work.

The bad news isn't bad for me, but for some others who shall remain nameless.

The good news is good for me, but that shall remain untold, because it's classified!

Either way, I have a job that I love! So I think I'll hone my skills and turn this into something long term...in one way or another.

Fact of the matter is, some people need to keep their noses out of the business of others.

Nuff said...

Thursday, February 25, 2010

Well, my worries about my job are over, for now. With all the re-organization my company has been thru, I have been informed that my job is changing. I am now in complete charge managing the warehouse. This means keeping close tabs on what materials we have on hand, ordering materials, allocating materials for projects, etc.

I will also be responsible for obtaining new inspections. Every building that has a fire sprinkler system installed is required by code to have the system inspected annually. This includes checking the valves for proper functionality, visually inspecting the location of sprinkler heads (if walls are added or shifted, sprinklers are often required to be moved as well), listing any deficiencies noticed, testing antifreeze solutions when applicable, and so on. I will not only be selling inspections, but also performing the work. This can turn into something extremely profitable because EVERY building with sprinklers is required to be inspected. The next time you walk into a store, or an office, look up. If you see sprinklers, there’s a need. I am looking forward to this. It's something I can do, and probably quite successfully. The more new inspections I sell, the more of a percentage I will get as commission!

I'm also excited about seeing the Groovetones again this weekend. Actually, tonight!! They will be playing at the Metropolitan Lounge here in Bluffton. How can I NOT go since this is right around the corner from me! Then, tomorrow night they will be at Weezies in Beaufort. It's a little of a drive, but I am going early to help them set up. Yea, I plan on having a blast!

So...all that, and it's 36 degrees out at 6am... I'm just sayin...

Random Chili

Since I spent some time oraganizing my living room tonight, I decided to make some more crock pot chili. Not an actual recipe, else I would post to my recipe blog...but heres what I put in it;

2 lbs ground beef - (browned with half can of beer, chili powder, cayene pepper and garlic)

3 large cans of tomatoes (2 diced, 1 crushed)

1 can kidney beans

1 can black beans

1 can great northern beans

1 can chick peas

1 can white (sweet) corn

1 large red onion - diced

1 can of light beer (yes, beer)

Combined in the crock pot and cooked on high about 5 hours

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

(I turned it on warm and will let it cook til lunch time the next day)
(might take a pic in the morning, dunno yet)

OK, maybe I WILL copy this to my recipe blog LOL

Hard Weekend

Well, we closed the Charleston office. All of us who work in Bluffton drove to Charleston and emptied the warehouse this past Saturday. We got 90% of the materials and furniture and brought it back to Bluffton. As we unloaded, we organized our warehouse and built new shelves. Some of the desks were "loaned" out because there is no place to store them. I brought home two really nice glass top desks and a large bookshelf. This means I need to be rid of the table and chair set and wooden desk that I had in my place to make rooom for the new stuff. I planned on working on it when I got home yesterday, but I was just too tired. Today is more sorting and doing inventory, so I may be tired tonight, too. But I have GOT to re-arrange things tonight just to have room to walk around in my living room.

I should be able to post some pics once I get everything straightened out.

I'm watching my bank account closely waiting for my tax refund! I've got my eye on a new .45 and a Bose accoustic wave device. I should still be able to put some $$ up even with these purchases. I may have sold my camrea, too. I'm waiting to hear back on that...we'll see.

Woke up to 57 degrees and cloudy skies.....

Saturday, February 20, 2010

Saturday, February 20, 2010

Headed to Charleston this morning to pack up the warehouse there and bring it back here. The lease is up on that office space at the end of this month. With the reorganization we're going thru, we won't need that location any longer. I'm driving the 26ft UHaul...which is the largest thing I've ever driven...so it shoul dbe interesting.

36 and clear.....

Friday, February 19, 2010

I went to the range last night. Since I haven't picked up a firearm in about 10 months, I wasn't too bummed about the group I shot. I can do better, but I still got all the rounds into "center body mass"...so I'm ok with it.

Got up at 4 am to work on hydraulics. We have a rather LARGE bid due today. The hydraulics tell us what size pipe to price. It's a freakin HUGE warehouse....but I think I got the numbers worked out.

37 and clear....

37 and clear

Went to bed early last night, so I could get up early this morning and go to the office. We have some software that I need to learn. It's sprinkler software that's used to make a materials list for ordering. There is a tutorial that goes along with it so I thought I could figure it out easy enough.

32 and clear

I started using iTunes this week. Found out I have over 7000 songs on my computer!!! Once I get my taxes back, I plan to break down and get an iPod, finally.

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Well, I slept hard last night. Brought some work home with me and stayed up til 11 working on it. That seems to be something I'm doing more of lately. No big deal, because I like my job. But I woke up with a sore neck. A couple tylenol is helping...

There are changes going on at work. The company is basically restructuring. The Charleston office is closing and all the materials in the warehouse, as well as the trucks are being brought here.So it looks like Saturday is going to be a long day!  I am supposed to have a sit-down with the big boss tomorrow or Thursday to discuss my role in the new organization. With the nature of the current economy, I can't help but wonder if I will actually HAVE a job on Friday. We'll see, I guess.

I've recently been gathering music into my computer from CDs. I may not be the most musically inclined, but I do enjoy many genre's of music. I have found that I like country music even less than previously thought. And the R&B music I had from times past...gone. Not caring for that very much either. Anyway, I have just about decided that with the tax refund I am getting this year I will probably get an iPod. Why not? I mean, I won't always have my computer with me to play music, and I do enjoy listening to it often!

I think I've decided to but a firearm or two. I've always wanted an AK47 or an AR15. But I also need to replace a .45 that I sold a few months ago. All of this, of course, is AFTER I make sure everything else in my budget is caught up and a good portion set aside into savings. I may also regain access to the 401(k) fund I had before to see if I can start putting some into it automatically from my check each week. Not A LOT, but some.

Time to get busy with my day. It's almost 7 and I feel like the day is slipping away!!

32 and clear!!!!

Monday, February 15, 2010

Woke up early this morning, 4:30...have to work on a project before I get to the office. I was going to get it done Saturday morning and not worry about it all weeked, but I procrastinated.

It's 43 degrees and clear.

Saturday Ramblings...

So, apparently there was a big hub-bub about a winter storm coming thru here yesterday.

I'm not really sure why, because it barely got down to 34 degrees even at the coldest part of the night. Yea, a few snow flurries fell, and some even stuck to the ground for a while...but it's now 1:15 pm the next day, and the only trace of precipitation from yesterday? A few puddles in low spots. Oh, and it's 52 degrees out!!

A true winter storm is what New England got last week....THREE FEET of snow!

I did venture out last night and saw a really great band. The Groovetones. They played a blues style similar to Stevie Ray Vaughn and The Fabulous Thunderbirds. The bassist/lead vocalist was fantastic. If I could play bass HALF as good as he did, I would be happy! I'll definitely go see them again!

Eh, whatever...I'm takin a nap!

:-)

Half boy, Half man

The average age of the military man is 19 years. He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who, under normal circumstances is
considered by society as half man, half boy. Not yet dry behind the ears,
not old enough to buy a beer, but old enough to die for his country. He
never really cared much for work and he would rather wax his own car than
wash his father's, but he has never collected unemployment either.

He's a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average student,
pursued some form of sport activities, drives a ten year old jalopy, and
has a steady girlfriend that either broke up with him when he left, or
swears to be waiting when he returns from half a world away. He listens to
rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and a 155mm howitzer.

He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he was at home because he is
working or fighting from before dawn to well after dusk. He has trouble
spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, but he can field strip a
rifle in 30 seconds and reassemble it in less time in the dark. He can
recite to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and
use either one effectively if he must.

He digs foxholes and latrines and can apply first aid like a professional.

He can march until he is told to stop, or stop until he is told to march.

He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is not without
spirit or individual dignity. He is self-sufficient.

He has two sets of fatigues: he washes one and wears the other. He keeps
his canteens full and his feet dry.

He sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never to clean his rifle. He
can cook his own meals, mend his own clothes, and fix his own hurts.

If you're thirsty, he'll share his water with you; if you are hungry, his
food. He'll even split his ammunition with you in the midst of battle when
you run low.

He has learned to use his hands like weapons and weapons like they were
his hands.

He can save your life - or take it, because that is his job.

He will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay, and
still find ironic humor in it all.

He has seen more suffering and death than he should have in his short
lifetime.

He has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in
combat and is unashamed.

He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while
at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to 'square-away '
those around him who haven't bothered to stand, remove their hat, or even
stop talking. In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he
defends their right to be disrespectful.

Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, he is paying
the price for our freedom.. Beardless or not, he is not a boy. He is the
American Fighting Man that has kept this country free for over 200 years.

He has asked nothing in return, except our friendship and understanding.

Remember him, always, for he has earned our respect and admiration with
his blood.

And now we even have women over there in danger, doing their part in this
tradition of going to War when our nation calls us to do so.

As you go to bed tonight, remember this shot. . .

A short lull, a little shade and a picture of loved ones in their helmets.

Friday, February 12, 2010

It's 39 out, and a little cloudy. The weather man is calling for the temp to drop tonight, and precipitation to begin this afternoon. We might get 1 - 3 inches of snow. This is a winter storm? I think not. New England just got a winter storm...2 blizzards within a week! With more than 3FEET of snow in some places....yea, this is no storm headed here!

I much prefer warmer weather. I wonder where I can move to stay warm year round....? hmmmm...

Thursday, Feb 11, 2010

oh no...I didn't blog this morning! Must have been this stomach thing I've been fighting...causing my mind to not totally function right LOL

Anyway, here it is almost 4 pm...it's 50 and mostly cloudy...but at least we don't have snow like much of the rest of the country! Thank goodness!!!

Updating from yesterday's post...I'm still a bit concerned about the job thing...but some things have come up today that make me a tad bit less concerned. In fact, "quite promising" would be a good description, for now.

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Job concerns.....

Without going into detail...I have some serious concerns lately about my job. The company is undergoing some major changes. I have begun to entertain the possibility of moving in order to maintain employment in the field I enjoy. Who knows...possibly another city...possibly another state...I have even considered another country...nothing is certain, but I must remain open to all possibilities at this point!

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Went to be at a decent hour last night. Slept good. I needed it. It was 59 degrees when I crawled into bed, and THRITY SEVEN when I woke up!!! Clear and windy, but quite chilly. At least we aren't getting the snow!!

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

Tuesday, Feb 9, 2010

Went to bed a little early last night...and slept solid til 5 this morning. I MUST have been tired. But I woke up with a sore neck. I think I slept hard and didnt even roll over once. My arms were tingling like they were alseep too. Anyway, I took some tylenol and made some coffee...I'm starting to wake up now.

55 and partly cloudy. :-)

Monday, February 8, 2010

As the day winds down, I find myself missing my girl even more. I know that one day she will call me, or come see me...but it's still so very difficult.

Monday Feb 8, 2010

Well, apparently there was some sporting event yesterday that a lot of people paid attnetion to.
I think it had to do with the Phillies and the Celtics. I'm not sure. But they said the ice wouldn't freeze quick enough, or the nets kept blowing in the wind........I dunno

Went to bed last night exhausted. Got up this morning exhausted. Coffee isn't helping.

32 degrees out and  looks like clear skies - can't tell yet, my eyes don't want to open.

A time for mourning with the passing of a very influential person...

It is with the saddest heart that I must pass on the following news.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. .
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
This person was someone we ALL grew up with. We watched him on television. he taugh us all at least ONE thing...some of us, he taught many things.

His influence continues well after his passing...

The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin.

Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs.Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch.

The grave site was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded.

Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times he was still a crusty old man and was considered a roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife, Play Dough, two children, John Dough and Jane Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly dad, Pop Tart.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.
Woke up today to 42 and sunny...because it was 8 when I got up :-)

Saturday, February 6, 2010

Saturday, Feb 6, 2010

Slept in this morning...didnt get up til 11. That is not like me at all!! I needed it SO much after the week I've had. Lots of hours, and a bit of strees at work. But I got it done. Headed back out to a jobsite to deliver some materials that came in late yesterday. Then home to clean house!! I will probably stop and get some fixins for a beef stew in the crock pot to SLOW cook all night tonight.

Woke up to mostly cloudy and 52 and windy.

Friday, February 5, 2010

Friday Feb 5, 2010

It's no fun at all to wake up at 4am. It's even LESS fun to wake up to a charlie horse in your calf. That felt like someone stuck a serrated steak knife in the muscle and twisted it. I think I actually yelled, too!! It's still sore.

Other than that, I get to work out at a jobsite this morning, then in the warehouse taking inventory.

Cloudy, drizzling rain, and 52 outside.

:-)

Thursday, Feb 4

Woke up this morning at 4. Yes, intentionally. have to send this email as soon as possible.
Getting very little sleep is wearing on my already feeble mind!

I get to work in the warehouse AND stocklist a job today...should be interesting to say the least.

Wondering what she's up to today. Missing her, loving her. I'm just sayin...

Oh, and it's 45 and partly cloudy.

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

Finally getting to bed at 11:45. The past two nights I didn't get to bed intil 1am!! This side job BETTER be paying well!!!

Got to bed late again...trying to finish a project...woke up to 46 and cloudy.

6AM:

Woke up this morning to 52 degrees and pouring rain...

Today is going to be just an average, ho-hum day.
Its 1am. I have been working on a project since 5:30 pm. Its not finished, but I need answers. My eyes are tired. My neck and back hurt. My arm and wrist are sore from using the computer so long...and I feel like my soul is half way around the world...

I'm just sayin...

Monday, February 1, 2010

What a beautiful night...comfortable temps, slight breeze...mish mash of music genre's on the laptop while I work on extra $$ ... I'm just sayin...

Monday Morning...

Woke up early this morning, with a headache. Not a KILLER headache, but a headache. It was about 34 when I got up, and the cars had frost on them.

I got to work early, accomplished a few things already.
The sun came up and things are slowly warming up.

Meeting with the boss in a bit to go over a new bid.

Fields of gold

When we dance...................

Saturday night...

The day started out a bit chilly, but warmed up to a nice 60 degrees. The rain wasn't a problem, but was constant. That was until about 1:30. As it stopped raining and became just a drizzle, the temp began it's descent. Clouds filled the skies, rain continued to drizzle, and the temperature steadily declined.

After sitting home tonight, looking up videos on Youtube, and playing games on Facebook, I finally decided to check again....it is now 10:40 pm and 37 degrees!!!

Yep, it's officially cold here now.

Thankfully, we don't have any of that white stuff that causes people to FORGET how to drive!!! Wait, Hilton Head people have problems driving anyway!!!

I'M JUST SAYIN.....

Saturday, January 29

Woke up to pouring rain, not cold, but chilly out.

I woke up this morning to 43 and partly cloudy.

My mind has so many things spinning around in it. There are some decisions to be made on both a personal and professional level.

I am considering a move to a western or mid-western state, not planning, but considering.

I am missing her so very much. It's been decades. I made some decisions back then that I am feeling more today than ever.

But, I hold on to ths thought:

"Everything happens for a reason, even if we can't see the reason at this time."

Love you, Miss you

34 degrees, clear and calm

Midnight Ramblings....

I spent a lot of time talking to friend girls today. Just chatting, and catching up. They all have a lot of things going on in their lives. Either moving to a far away place, or juggling time between kids and work, or recovering from a minor vehicle crash, or having having relationship problems with a husband or boyfriend.

It makes me stop and think...does it ever really work out like we thought? Is there REALLY a "happily ever after" like we read about in stories as kids? Will life on this big round ball of dirt ever slow down enough for us to just enjoy the company of another?

I like being able to just listen. I might not be able to actually help or offer advice...but sometimes I feel like just letting them talk, vent, rant or just cry seems to help them in the long run. I might not understand all they are going thru, but just the fact that I CAN listen makes me feel like I might have helped in some small way.

I love you all, in your own special ways...be strong, ladies...that's what makes you what you are...AWESOME!

Sometimes....

Sometimes the journey itself is more exciting than reaching the goal.

Full Body Scanner controversy

Here's a solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners. Have a booth that you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on you.

It would be a win-win for everyone!

9:30 PM

Got called out to work at a jobsite about 2:30 today...stayed there til about 9. Now I'm back at the office, printing drawings to take with me when I go BACK out there at 7:30 tomorrow morning. We're trying to finish up an installation beore a 10AM inspection. It's gonna be tight, but we'll get it done.

55 degrees and breezy, but clear.

Today I'm helping a friend with some yard work...and doing some soulsearching about the future. Do I stay here, or move out west?

Mighty McFly

I got to see Mighty McFly last night for the first time in probably two years. What an awesome show. Brent's vocal range in phenomenal! Can hardly wait for them to come back in March...

Feels like 60 outside, and it must have just rained.

New friends...

I met some military men tonite. They are currently stationed at Fort Stewart, GA. They are deploying to the middle east soon. I will begin collecting things to send them care packages. I know first hand how much someone who is away from home enjoys receiving something in the mail. Especially if it's something they want or need.

These brave young men are fighting for me, for you, for the United States!! They are striving to RETAIN the freedoms which our founding fathers fought to GIVE us.

It may be a small jesture, but I feel strongly about supporting our troops! I will do what I can. Maybe it will help them make it thru the more than difficult times they are facing!

God Bless you, men. And THANK YOU!!

God Bless America !!

waiting patiently for the Mighty McFly to start playing...

One last try...

So I took my camera to Beaufort today. I really tried to get some good shots. But I'm honestly just not 'feeling it' anymore.

Here's a link to the shots I got. They aren't spectacular. Hence my disappointment.

More BLogging!!!

I am now mobile!!!

Thanks to Blogger.com I can now BLOG from my phone!

WooHoo!!

Saturday, January 23

48 and overcast. Weather.com says it might clear up about mid-day and get into the mid 50s...we'll see.

Headed into work this morning to let the guys get some materials from the warehouse. Then headed to Beaufort to stop by the job where I designed and installed the system.

I'm taking my camera with me, just in case it clears up enough to get a pic or two. When I listed it on Ebay the first time, the reserve wasn't met, so I re-listed it. If it doesn't sell this time, I guess I'll just keep it.

Tonight, in Savannah, at Wild Wing Cafe on River St....THE MIGHTY McFLY!!!!

Overcast, mid 40s, foggy in places...

but this is THE place to be!!

I'm going to have to come spend the day in Beaufort tomorrow. It's kinda like a smaller version of Charleston or Savannah with the historic structures downtown. Maybe I can get a photo or two before I get rid of my camera on Ebay...who knows.

I will, however, be SO GLAD when I don't have to come back to this jobsite!! I mean, dang, how hard is it to make a decision and make it happen! Do you just LIKE paying us extra money to come over here and RE-do things?

It'll all work out. At least now I can say I have worked in the field...some

I'm just sayin!

Don't forget me...

Through all you do in life, wherever you go, whoever you are with, however you feel...dont forget about me.

Relationships....

As if I'M one to talk about relationships, huh?

It's just that I have noticed that I am not the only one to have "trouble" with relationships. I have many friends, and some family, who seem to be in a great relationship. But, whether it's with their spouse or love interest or whatever you call it, it just doesn't seem to be working out. Yea, people will disagree, and about ANYTHING. But some things just need to be overlooked!! COPE, people!!!

What? The toothpaste isn't squeezed like you like it? Oh, you don't like the way I fold the towels? I didn't realize you like the toilet paper UNDER and not over! Oops, I think I ran over your cat!

Come on people...why is it so difficult to make a relationship work?!?!?

This much I know: Love is not about YOU and you alone. It's about you AND the one with whom you SHARE the love!!! You can't take and take!! You have to GIVE AND TAKE!! Forget about how you want things done once in a while and just let them have the pleasure of folding the towel in half instead of thirds...IT'S NOT THAT DIFFICULT!!!

But, it works both ways.

I try to be a giver. Anything within my power,, I am willing to give or DO for her (whoever "she" is). But I won't be run over either. Make some concessions, but don't be bitter about it!

But don't allow yourself to be run over like a freight train either!!!

I'M JUST SAYIN!!!

(disclaimer: this was not directed at any specific person, it's just my ramblings)

Ramblings....

Why is it so difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

Is it because we Americans have been 'programmed' to "eat on the go"? Drive-thrus have become so popular that we can get almost anything as we drive from one place to another. We can drop off dry cleaning, pay our rent and utilities, pick up our prescriptions...I have even seen drive-thru beer and liquor stores!!

What's next, drive-thru dentistry, or eye exams?

A friend of mine recently told me of an observation. When she went back to her parent's home (in a non US country) all the citizens were thin and trim. She realized that most American she personally knows, or works with, are less thin. OK, even fat.

I believe it's because we don't eat right. We don't exercise right, if any! We are in such a hurry to stuff our faces, then sit around and watch tv instead of getting out and DOING something that we just bloat up and become "average Americans."

What's up with that?!?!

Sunday, January 17, 2010

I had the most awesome Sunday E V E R - 24 hours of nothing but relaxation, no pressure of any kind, no heartache, no headcahe, no expectations or disappointments ... nothing but pure, honest, unadulterated, unfiltered, life-long friendship. I didn't know I could have a friend as wonderful as this...THANK YOU, my... caring friend, for being so wonderful and amazing.

I have nothing but love and admiration for you and the things you are doing with your life. You are a truly awesome friend, and I will be here for you through anything and everything. My door is always open to you. If you ever need anything, I will give, or do it for you. If you need another opinion on something, call me. If you need a shoulder to cry on, call me. If you need driving directions, I will Google it for you!! If you need a recipe, you KNOW I have it or can get it. If you need money, I will give you the number for Bill Gates HAHAHA

There I go, making you laugh.

Thank you for your friendship, and the love you give. Thank you for listening to me. Thank you for sharing with me. Thank you for being you!!!

2010: A New Beginning...

As the new year begins, we all go thru thoughts, recollections, times of decision whatever you call it...but we all do it. Many people make resolutions, which they tell others about. Some make them and keep them a secret. Others simply don't make them...
